Stream the New Bowerbirds Album in Full, New 7″ Available on Record Story Day

Bowerbirds’ third album, The Clearing, is out next Tuesday, March 6th. The 405 shares a lovely review with us, making clear the details and reasoning that led to the album’s creation. Giving the album an almost perfect rating, Colin Joyce says, “Though it’s pleasant at surface level, this is one that takes a bit of time to unravel. And when that unraveling occurs, listen by listen, it becomes clear that this is a record of such quality that isn’t come across on a daily basis.” You can STREAM THE ALBUM IN FULL EXCLUSIVELY AT STEREOGUM NOW. Pre-order HERE.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Bowerbirds will also have a Record Store Day 7-inch come April 21st. Featuring The Clearing‘s “In the Yard” and a b-side of “Always An Ear to Bend,” it’s a RSD exclusive. Check out participating record stores HERE.

Holy bananas. Bear in Heaven recently snagged PFFR LTD, the famed art collective behind Wonder Showzen, Xavier: Renegade Angel and The Heart, She Holler, to direct this trippy, seizure-inducing video of “The Reflection of You.” The video, which premiered this morning over on Vice’s music channel Noisey, is a sweet mixture of zoom shots, dancing dudes and neon lights. Might be best to sit down while you enjoy this one. Bear in Heaven hit the road next week for a massive US tour (including appearances at SXSW), followed by a string of EU/UK dates. The band will be touring in support of their recent EP Onwards To The Wall, across the US. Several new headlining dates have been announced as well as a full European tour that runs through mid-May. To cap things off, APTBS will join Metallica at their Orion Music Festival in Atlantic City on June 24th. Joining lead singer & guitarist Oliver Ackermann and bassist Dion Lunadon for the dates will be Robi Gonzalez on drums. The band sent a message to fans, saying:

As some of you may know, Jay Space is no longer playing drums in A Place To Bury Strangers. We salute Jay as having been such an important part of the band and continues to be very much loved friend and brother. We wish him all the best for the future. For the upcoming US/European tour dates we are super excited to be bringing on Robi Gonzalez (Jubilee, Trouble Andrew) as our drummer. We are chomping at the bit to get back on the road and can’t wait to see all of our awesome fans again!

The trio will join The Joy Formidable and Exitmusic for most of their US shows. A full list of tour dates and links to buy tickets are available HERE.
