After sharing album tracks, “Tuck the Darkness In,” and “In the Yard,” Bowerbirds are giving a further look into what their forthcoming album, The Clearing, is all about with this excellent, six-minute mini documentary about the making of the album. Produced by Creato Destructo, this video shows Bowerbirds in their natural element, talking about their life, the home they are building, their music and more.

Bowerbirds’ The Clearing is out March 6, but you can get a jump on things by pre-ordering is HERE. There are all kinds of fun bundles available, including some limited edition white vinyl. The band will be touring as a five-piece all over the country this spring. We’ve got dates below.

It’s been a wee bit since we’ve heard from The Tallest Man on Earth, but we’ve got real treat to share with you today! Kristian recently performed on the popular Swedish game show, På Spåret. Accompanied by a full band, he performs a traditional Swedish folk song with an assertive gusto and then surprises us with a rockin’ cover of Thin Lizzy’s “Dancing in the Moonlight.” The normally guitar clad Kristian leaves the band to play, while he handles the mike and dancing as though it’s something he gives to us every night. We certainly aren’t mad about it! Check it out for yourself above!

Our sister label Secretly Canadian has raved about the Pumphouse Sessions from last year’s Pickathon Festival in Oregon already. Now, we over here at Dead Oceans get to sing their praises as well. Watch this lovely video that Califone recorded with the Pumphouse crew in a small shack situated deep in the woods at Pickathon 2011. The sessions were recorded by the very talented folks over at Live and Breathing, who would be worth your time to check out. Hopefully they’ll be back in action at Pickathon next summer.

A Place To Bury Strangers stunning new EP, Onwards To The Wall, is out today folks and it’s been going like hotcakes already! Wait, what does that saying even mean anyway?
