More dates! Yep, Phosphorescent has announced a handful of summer and fall shows. The schedule includes many a festival. You’ll have a chance to see the gang live at Stag and Dagger, Primavera Sound, The Great Escape, Way Out West, Pitchfork Music Festival, Northside Festival, Ottawa Bluesfest, St. Jereome’s Laneway Festival, Xponential, Green Man, Roots and Blues BBQ, and Austin City Limits Festival (WHEW – we’re tired just listing those off). WATCH // Teaser For Julianna Barwick’s ‘Nepenthe,’ Album Out August 20

Julianna Barwick has a brand new album coming to you August 20. Created this past February in Reykjavík, Iceland, Nepenthe speaks to the isolation and grief Julianna experienced during the making of the album. Taking her recording process out of the bedroom and into a foreign country led Julianna to welcome new beings, both human and landscape, into the making of her third album. The ending is Julianna much as we’ve seen her before, only this time the experience is heightened.

We’re taking your Thursday listening to a whole new level. Phosphorescent recently performed live on NPR’s World Cafe. You can listen to “Terror In The Canyons,” “Song for Zula,” “The Quotidian Beasts,” and “A New Anhedonia” now. David Dye also interviews Matthew during the broadcast. Listen HERE. Akron/Family Win Hearts With Performance at Grand Street Bakery, Featured on All Songs Considered

What a treat! Akron/Family stopped by Brooklyn’s Grand Street Bakery for a two-song performance. Fader was there to catch the band in all their glory. You can watch “Until The Morning” above and “When I Was Young” below. Both songs are off AF’s recently released Sub Verses, available now at iTunes, SC Distribution and Amazon.

You can also check out “the brilliantly experimental folk-rock band” on the latest broadcast of NPR’s All Songs Considered. Their song “Sand Talk” is the featured track.

The Akron boys are playing Portland’s Mississippi Studios on May 22, with a handful of West Coast dates to follow. Come July, the band is headed to Europe. Check out all their tour dates HERE.
