From the band, “For The Feel is a song we originally wrote for our full length but it didn’t sound right once recorded so we held off on putting it on the record. Finally when it came down to recording it again we were really inspired by the sound of The Kinks, we even used The Kinks amp. I’m really glad we waited to release this song because now it’s perfect”

Go ahead and pre-order Set ‘Em Wild, Set ‘Em Free HERE!

The sweet, shining cherry on top of this news is the release of a second mp3 from the album – the soulful, highlife guitar-inflected “River.”

Enjoy “River” by going HERE.

The band also has prepped the exclusive Everyone Is Guilty 7″, which will be available at Akron/Family tour dates and at businesses participating in Record Store Day on April 18, a new international holiday celebrating independent record stores. Opening with a groove unlike anything Akron/Family have ever laid to tape, 7″ single and album opener “Everyone Is Guilty” kicks off a new chapter for the band. The percussive thunder and anthemic electric guitars of “Everyone is Guilty” make a bold statement, touching on everything from Fela Kuti to Sly and the Family Stone in under six psychedelic minutes. This is not the Akron/Family you think you know. See a list of participating record stores HERE.
