ON FILLMORE’S Extended Vacation Released Today, Highlighted In The New York Times

Today, the “rhythm section’s revenge” otherwise known as ON FILLMORE, the collaboration of Wilco’s Glenn Kotche and bassist Darin Gray, release unto the world their sultry, lovely Dead Oceans’ debut, Extended Vacation. The album is a confusing and comforting journey that features moody vibes, noir-film bass approaches, jungle predators, exotic birdcalls and ominous, rattling war drums. Don’t you think you deserve a little vacay?

This week, Extended Vacation was featured in The New York Times’ Sunday Playlist, in which critic Nate Chinen said of the piece: “It all suggests a peculiar update of early-1960s exotica, with a heart of darkness in place of a setting sun.” Read the entire review HERE.
