The Luyas Visit Daytrotter, Tour with the Dodos

At SXSW this past March, the Luyas visited Big Orange Studios in Austin, and recorded a Daytrotter session. Listen to the band’s fiery take on “Spherical Mattress” from Too Beautiful To Work, along with three others here. Get over to Daytrotter and put this one on repeat, it’s perfect.

The Luyas embark on another long tour in just a few weeks. They’re joining the Dodos once again, this time in North America. We can’t wait to see them onstage together — a little Doyas magic happens when they join forces onstage every night. Check out the full list of shows here. NURSES Record Daytrotter Session, Announce Spring Tour Dates

From today’s Daytrotter entry, it’s obvious that the folks behind the site hold a special place in their hearts for NURSES. They fondly recall putting the band up three years ago when Nurses found themselves in Rock Island, and lavish their sophomore release Apple’s Acre with the praise it deserves. Nurses return the love with a killer session, available for streaming or download at the Daytrotter website HERE.The session includes “Caterpillar Playground,” a version of “Technicolor” that fades into “Man At Arms” and the new track “Sweet So Sleeping.”

Look for Nurses back on the road soon, coming to a city near you with The Tallest Man On Earth. With a slew of new tour dates announced yesterday, this ought to give you one more reason to be excited for spring.

Hear THE DONKEYS’ Daytrotter Session

If you head on over to the Daytrotter website you can hear the latest session from THE DONKEYS, which premiered on New Year’s Eve. The band laid down four tracks for Daytrotter, including the new song “Nu Blu Stocking.” This sunny slice of SoCal pop is a welcome reprieve from the winter glum, and will almost make you forget if there is snow on the ground.

MT. ST. HELENS VIETNAM BAND has been on a tear across North America since releasing their self-titled Dead Oceans debut later this year. On said tear, the band stopped by the Daytrotter Studios for a shred session. Hear the four-song session by clicking right HERE.

Daytrotter’s Sean Moeller said this of the band: “These are songs full of kicking and swinging, full of fight that seeks more eligible energy – a fire seeking more oxygen for a bigger pronouncement – and the smoke coming off of the towering inferno is that of something pleasant and dear despite the lacerations. “
