Destroyer Covers New Order for MOJO Compilation

In the February 2012 issue of Mojo, Destroyer takes part in the remaking of New Order’s Power, Corruption, & Lies and the single “Blue Monday.” The covermount CD, included with purchase of the magazine, features 13 different artists doing some serious justice in the recreation of New Order’s second and possibly most revered album.

Destroyer covers “Leave Me Alone.” For a preview of the album, check out Mojo’s Tumblr and to listen to Destroyer’s track in it’s entirety, head over to The Quietus.

UK Press Loves Destroyer

The end of year love just keeps rolling in! Drowned in Sound, The Stool Pigeon, The Quietus, Uncut, The Guardian, MOJO and NME all named Destroyer’s Kaputt in their top 50 best albums of 2011 lists. Thanks guys. We’re totally blushing over here. Hugs all around. Here’s a list of where we ranked:

#20 Drowned in Sound
#22 The Stool Pigeon
#29 The Quietus
#31 Uncut
#33 The Guardian
#41 MOJO
#44 NME
Adding to the excitement, Pitchfork put Kaputt at #2 on their list. Wow. We’re kind of speechless. Thank you again. For reals.

The Tallest Man On Earth Featured on Live at KEXP Compilation

Just when I thought KEXP couldn’t get more awesome, they’ve announced their latest live compilation, Live at KEXP, Volume Seven! The Tallest Man On Earth makes an appearance with his song “A Field of Birds.” Check out the video above for a little taste.

Although we release Destroyer’s music outside of North America, we’re pleased to see them included, as well as Sharon Van Etten, who is signed with our sister-label Jagjaguwar. Congratulations to everybody and a big thank you to KEXP for all the love.

Watch the New Destroyer Video for “Savage Night at the Opera”

Check out the newest Destroyer video for stand out Kaputt track, “Savage Night at the Opera.” Directed by David Galloway, and shot using just one camera, in a single take, this minimalist approach is a simple, striking trek through the streets of Vancouver. This video could not be more different than Destroyer’s stunning video released earlier this year for “Kaputt.” If you need a refresher, watch that clip here.
