NEW VIDEO // The Tallest Man On Earth Shares Beautiful “Short Film About Dark Bird Is Home,” New Tour Dates

The Guardian described The Tallest Man on Earth’s critically acclaimed album The Dark Bird is Home as “more than usually opaque”; with lyrics that allude to personal struggles. The recording of the album lent itself to create music that felt raw and meaningful and today we’re happy to share a short film on the process, directed by Dan Huiting and Lauren Josephine.

Recorded in Kristian Matsson’s native Sweden, we get a glimpse of the beautiful backdrop that was integral to the album’s creation, with Matsson poetically narrating in both Swedish and English parts, as well as a peak into the rustic, simple cabin-come-recording studio that birthed the latest album.

This June, The Tallest Man on Earth will embark on a US tour followed by his biggest European show to date, London’s legendary Royal Albert Hall. Full list of dates below.

AKRON/FAMILY Featured in All Tomorrow’s Parties Documentary

Look for AKRON/FAMILY in the new documentary All Tomorrow’s Parties, out today in the US. In an out-of-season holiday camp on the coast of England, alternative music festival All Tomorrow’s Parties serves up a heady combination of alternative music, crazy golf and chalet-living; all curated by a single band or artist. This post-punk DIY bricolage uses material generated by the fans and musicians themselves, on a multitude of formats and over the history of ATP, to capture the uncompromising spirit of a parallel music universe. An Akron/Family performance from the festival is featured, along with contributions from artists including Belle and Sebastian, Grizzly Bear, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Animal Collective and more.
