WATCH // The Tallest Man On Earth Returns to KEXP for a Live Session, Covers David Bazan

The Tallest Man On Earth first played KEXP back in 2009 when their video series had just launched. Perhaps you remember his performance of “Where Do My Bluebird Fly,” a video that now holds almost two million views. KEXP recently beckoned Kristian back for a second performance and he obliged, giving us a four-song set. His return includes three songs off his new album, There’s No Leaving Now, and a wonderful cover of David Bazan’s “Lost My Shape.” Watch above!

WATCH: Phosphorescent Covers Randy Newman’s “Days of Heaven” Live at Pickathon

It’s been a bit since we’ve seen anything from Phosphorescent. Quiet no more! KEXP shares an intimate new video of Matthew performing live at the Pendarvis House during Pickathon a few weeks ago. He covers Randy Newman’s “Days of Heaven” and does so quite beautifully. Watch above.

In a week or so, Matthew will head to Sweden to perform in the first ever Brooklyn, Sweden Festival, featuring musicians that hail from Brooklyn. Details HERE.

The Tallest Man On Earth Featured on Live at KEXP Compilation

Just when I thought KEXP couldn’t get more awesome, they’ve announced their latest live compilation, Live at KEXP, Volume Seven! The Tallest Man On Earth makes an appearance with his song “A Field of Birds.” Check out the video above for a little taste.

Although we release Destroyer’s music outside of North America, we’re pleased to see them included, as well as Sharon Van Etten, who is signed with our sister-label Jagjaguwar. Congratulations to everybody and a big thank you to KEXP for all the love.

John Vanderslice Performs Convict Lake for KEXP


At SXSW, KEXP set up shop at Mellow Johnny’s, a store owned by Austinite Lance Armstrong. John Vanderslice performed a set, and KEXP recently posted a video of White Wilderness standout “Convict Lake.” JV embarks on a lengthy North American tour next week, check out the full list of dates. No word on whether Lance was in attendance or not.

Sun Airway Get Remixed By Solar Bears, Announce Tour

Sun Airway’s fall tour saw them on the road with the likes of Bear in Heaven, Lower Dens and Twin Shadow. They visited Daytrotter (session coming soon!), KEXP (check out the video above) and Yours Truly (which, if you have not seen, stop what you are doing and watch). And, now they are about to head back out on the road, visiting Chicago for the Tomorrow Never Knows Festival, touring with Cults, Asobi Sesku and Small Black, and visiting SXSW. Check out all of the dates below.
