Watch Sun Airway’s New Video for “Wild Palms” – New European Tour Dates with Architecture in Helsinki

Today MTV Hive premiered the new music video for the Sun Airway single “Wild Palms” by Klip Collective‘s Ricardo Rivera. Recorded over the summer at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, “Rivera’s visual representation is about as accurate of a picture as you can get: while present, Barthmus remains somewhat of an incorporeal being, fading in and out of focus as his words superimpose over each other. Every movement appears slightly slowed and dreamy as “Wild Palms” seems to exist as a permanent part of the atmosphere — you could easily picture it being recorded in this cathedral as bright synths cut in and out like light through stained glass.”

Sun Airway is participating in an important philanthropic mission along with many of their peers to raise money for the organization Invisible Children. Each band in The Musician Coalition is trying to raise an attainable goal (Sun Airway’s goal is $1,000) to pay for radio towers in central Africa and end the use of child soldiers in the Lord’s Resistance Army.

Sun Airway is heading to Europe in October to tour with Architecture in Helsinki and more. Check out the dates!

Today Pitchfork premiered the video for Sun Airway b-side “Symphony in White, No.2″ in the Forkcast. The video is a mini-doc (directed by Ricardo Rivera of Klip Collective) of the band’s recent performance at the First Unitarian Church in their hometown of Philadelphia. The audio is from the upcoming 7″, and the video features projections made specifically for the music by Klip Collective.

Sun Airway will perform on Friday night at Schubas in Chicago and at 1:55 on the Blue Stage at Saturday’s Pitchfork Festival in Union Park. Dead Oceans will be there – eating ice cream and getting heat stroke and hi-fiving everyone. We’ll see you there!

Just in time for Sun Airway’s upcoming spring tour that will take them across these Great United States of America (including SXSW, tba), yvynl has produced a video that expounds upon the great visual projections that are an integral part of Sun Airway’s tremendous live show. Jon Barthmus of Sun Airway and Ricardo Rivera of Klip Collective are both interviewed, and the live footage contained offers a taste to their upcoming shows with Cults, Asobi Seksu and Small Black.

Klip Collective filmed three songs of Sun Airway performing at a recent concert at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia. You can watch “Oh, Naoko,” “Infinity,” and “Your Moon” on their vimeo here.

Sun Airway Share Another Live Video, Release Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier To Wide Prase in the UK

Sun Airway’s “Your Moon” Live from klipcollective on Vimeo.

As promised, Sun Airway have released another live video, this time for “Your Moon” and once again, the projections by Klip Collective are pure eye candy.

We are also pleased to release Sun Airway’s Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier in the United Kingdom today. Uncut gave the album four stars, while Q said that it, “picks up where Merriweather Post Pavilion left off, dream, abstract washes of electronic sound wrapping themselves around sweet, Beach Boys harmonies.” The Independent gave the album three stars, describing it as “miasmic drone-rock that brings to mind My Bloody Valentine collaborating with The Flaming Lips.” For our friends in the UK, we promise this is worth the wait.
