WATCH // Night Beds Premiere Video for “Ramona”, Tour Europe & Festivals Through December

Night Beds have premiered the new video for their single off Country Sleep, “Ramona.” The video is directed by Abraham Vilchez-Moran, and tells the story of an emotional confrontation between a transgendered teenager and his drunk father.

Vilchez-Moran explains:

“The concept for ‘Ramona’ was birthed out of my aspiration to do something that would speak not only to the heart of the song’s lyrics but also to the feeling that it embodied…I was inspired to capture that raw energy in a story that would reflect what it means to be ‘Ramona’ and what it means to be ostracized for who you are.”

WATCH // Phosphorescent Performs Two Songs For Le Cargo Sessions

Enjoy a Friday treat with Phosphorescent who performs “A New Anhedonia” and “Down To Go” off his album Muchacho. Thanks to French music webzine Le Cargo for recording these beautiful and haunting sessions!

Phosphorescent is on tour now starting with an appearance in McCarren Park in Brooklyn for the Northside Festival tomorrow night with dates on through late November. Check all the tour dates HERE.

Phosphorescent Brings “Song for Zula” With Strings and Swagger to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Phosphorescent brought a transcendent performance of Muchacho‘s breakout hit “Song for Zula” to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night. The touring band was joined by a string section – making an already special rendition even more gorgeous. Grab a handkerchief and enjoy a good cry. This is television magic, people!

Also just in: a new feature about Phosphorescent at Urban Outfitters! And a word to you New Yorkers: go see Phosphorescent at the Crossing Brooklyn Ferry festival on Saturday night. It’ll be a Dessner-approved good time.

WATCH // Night Beds Perform Live for Lawrence High School’s Film & Media Series

Night Beds stopped by Room 125 at Lawrence High School for a another beautiful live session (aren’t they all, really?) and interview. It’s all for an ongoing project film & media students started awhile ago. You can watch “Lost Springs” and “Was I For You?” in our Youtube playlist above. I personally recommend paying special attention to the 1:50 mark in “Was I For You”; Winston and Caleb work some special harmonizing magic. Siggghhhh.

Did you see Winston on Rachael Ray earlier this week? SPIN certainly did, which means you probably should too….fast forward to the 3:40 mark and open your eyes.
