Sun Airway’s New 7″ Out Today!

We had a lot of fun at the Pitchfork Festival this year with Sun Airway. They played the Blue stage on Saturday to a big, stoked crowd. We spent the rest of the day eating ice cream, doing interviews, re-applying sunblock and watching bands. After the jump I have some behind-the-scenes Pitchfork shots of my own, but I need to remind everyone that the fantastic new Sun Airway 7″, Wild Palms b/w Symphony in White, No. 2 is out today! It’s available at your local record store as well as your favorite internet one.

Sun Airway’s “Symphony in White, No. 2″

Sun Airway’s “Symphony In White, No. 2″ from klipcollective on Vimeo.

Today Pitchfork premiered the video for Sun Airway b-side “Symphony in White, No.2″ in the Forkcast. The video is a mini-doc (directed by Ricardo Rivera of Klip Collective) of the band’s recent performance at the First Unitarian Church in their hometown of Philadelphia. The audio is from the upcoming 7″, and the video features projections made specifically for the music by Klip Collective.

Sun Airway will perform on Friday night at Schubas in Chicago and at 1:55 on the Blue Stage at Saturday’s Pitchfork Festival in Union Park. Dead Oceans will be there – eating ice cream and getting heat stroke and hi-fiving everyone. We’ll see you there!

Sun Airway Playing Pitchfork!

You guys!!! Sun Airway is going to be playing the Pitchfork Music Festival this year!  They are slated for the Saturday of the fest, July 16th.  Also playing that day will be Fleet Foxes, the Dismemberment Plan and Ariel Pink.

I’m already dreaming about the vegan ice cream, the record tent, Fuze drinks, sunburns, Goose Island-related shenanigans…

Tickets go on sale at 1pm EST – go get em.
