ALBUM RELEASE // Mark McGuire’s ‘Along The Way’ Out Now, Live Dates Start at SXSW In March

Mark McGuire‘s new album Along The Way is out now worldwide. Previously a member of trio Emeralds, Mark delivers a new concept album of personal reflection and enlightenment.

Listen to some tracks from the new album including a new remix by CFCF and others by Shinji, Prins Thomas [Lindstrom collaborator] or here on our Soundcloud page.

On Along The Way, McGuire writes in the liner notes,
“This story is an odyssey through the vast, unknown regions of the mind…the endless unfolding of psychological landscapes, leading to perpetual discoveries and expansions, in a genuinely emergent and infinite world of worlds.” Further he writes “[the new album] is not a critique, it is not instructional, nor is it a proclamation that I believe I have gone through this journey and succeeded, not by a long shot. It is, however, a journey that I truly believe is offered to every man and woman who has ever lived, through the lightness that breathes through your heart when you feel the true touch of life, and the light of love.”

Get Along The Way now through SC Distribution, iTunes, Amazon and your local record store.

Early reviews on Along The Way:

“McGuire creates a journey that will absorb and transport any listener willing to let its sincere warmth and good wishes into their hearts.”

THE WIRE

“Repeated listening will take you down new paths, unlocking Easter eggs along the way; immersive, entrancing and absolutely non-linear.”

THE 405 | 8/10

“he [Mark] approaches it with a curiosity of spirit that makes ‘Along The Way’ a captivating and nourishing listen”

NME

LOVE FOR MUCHACHO

“Accordingly, listening to Muchacho often feels like being warmed by afternoon sun as it floods your window. Every sound is lovingly recorded and given a cradle of space…It’s a place where well-worn sounds are the most beloved, where ideas and poses are settled into like old chairs. On ‘Muchacho,’ Houck invests this world with new beauty and profundity.”Pitchfork, named BEST NEW MUSIC

“Phosphorescent is a Brooklyn band that hasn’t forgotten its Southern pedigree, creating washy psychedelia with a foothold in country-rock.”New York Times

“…the sixth album from Houck is heartfelt and forlorn. Be prepared to fall in love again.”Bowlegs Music

“‘Muchacho’ is a record which can soothe even the darkest nights and moods.”This Is Fake DIY
