Release Day: The Tallest Man On Earth’s “There’s No Leaving Now” Out Today!

Happy release day to The Tallest Man On Earth! Today Kristian releases his third lp, There’s No Leaving Now! It’s available in-stores and online. Order your copy from iTunes or SC Distribution now! You can also stream the album in full at Spotify.

“These 10 songs, like those before them, dazzle and shimmy and sulk, as Matsson continues to conjure images of a young Dylan projecting his voice through a megaphone.” – NPR

“The piano-driven title track is a continuation of something Matsson hinted at on his last full-length (The Wild Hunt); it’s a subtle departure, an assertion that he won’t be creatively contained.” – Creative Loafing

Nurses Dracula out today

Nurses’ Dracula is out on Dead Oceans today! You can get the album right here. You can also stream the whole thing on AOL Spinner’s Listening Party this week. And be sure to check out a pair of interviews with Aaron at Blackbook Magazine and The Oregonian. Blackbook says, “More than sucked blood, though, Dracula seems the result of a bled out psyche…spooky and melancholic, with cryptic atmospherics and languid funk undercurrents.” The Oregonian points out that on Dracula, “when the lower frequencies kick in, its cape of seductive darkness unfurls.”

Nurses have a series of instores today to celebrate the release, then kick off their fall tour at Holocene on Thursday. A full list of tour dates is available here. Join them in your town for some Fever Dreamin‘.

Phosphorescent’s “Here’s To Taking It Easy” Out Today

The wait is over. Phosphorescent’s new album Here’s To Taking It Easy is in stores around the world today. Rather than spewing our own hyperbole all over this classic record, we’ll let some fine journalists do the talking. Mojo anointed it as album of the month, stating that songwriter Matthew Houck, “produces songs that skitter round your peripheral vision, hide in the back of your mind, their outlaw mental state playing hide-and-seek behind classic rock curtains.” Paste Magazine recently discussed Here’s To Taking It Easy with Phosphorescent, and said that, “it’s got grooves deep enough to hide in and songs that stretch out like horizon-bound highways, an album both sunburned surfers and leather-clad bikers can enjoy.” Don’t believe us? Download “The Mermaid Parade” and “It’s Hard to be Humble (When You’re From Alabama” and listen for yourself.
