Mark’s Dead Oceans debut Along The Way will be delivered to your aural cavities February 4th, 2014. Today, he releases a second single from the album entitled “In Search of the Miraculous” [via Rolling Stone premiere yesterday] and a remix from producer Shinji (DMBQ, Boredoms). On the meaning behind the second single, Mark explains:

“It’s about a person falling in love with knowledge and following that love wherever it takes him in search of truth and understanding of himself and the world…The main mantra of the song is, ‘All that we know is only learned,’ implying that all knowledge created and discovered by man is continuously open to re-evaluation and can always grow and change, which basically leaves reality open to all possibilities”

WATCH // Julianna Barwick Trick-or-Treats With La Blogothéque, Performs At Pitchfork Festival Paris Tonight

We are excited to release Julianna Barwick‘s second of two La Blogotheque Takeaway sessions. For this second session, we see Julianna in downtown Reykjavik with her loop machine on Ash Day, an almost equivalent to Halloween in the United States. She offers not only candy but the microphone to children trick-or-treating, their voices falling in with Julianna’s adding to the gorgeous echoes in her performance improvised on the street. WATCH // Julianna Barwick Releases Intimate Performance at Judson Church, Announces West Coast Headlining Tour Dates

As Julianna Barwick continues her dates on tour with Sigur Ros, we deliver up two bits of exciting news.

First, Julianna has premiered a truly beautiful live video of her song “Crystal Lake” via Filter today. Directed by Derrick Belcham and filmed by Belcham and E Lee Smith, the video shows Julianna at her album release show performance at The Judson Church in New York City. Her expanded live setup includes guitarist Scott Bell, special guests violist Rose Nelis, and vocalists Sharon Van Etten, Kate McGuire, Taraka and Nimai Larson (Prince Rama). RELEASE // Phosphorescent Announces Deluxe Version of Muchacho, Stream “Terror In The Canyons” Live At St. Pancras

Phosphorescent has spent the last few months hitting venues and blowing away crowds in North America and abroad. Now the band announces something more for fans to hear. We are excited to release Muchacho De Lujo, the deluxe edition of Phosphorescent‘s renowned 2013 album, Muchcacho.

The deluxe album, out on October 29th digitally and on CD, features bonus material from an intimate pre-release live show recorded at St. Pancras Church in London. The set, performed with Matthew Houck on guitar and Jo Schorrnikow on piano, features Muchacho’s “Song for Zula,” Pride’s “Wolves,” and a cover of Waylon Jennings’ “Storms Never Last.”

ALBUM ANNOUNCE // Destroyer ‘Five Spanish Songs’ EP Out 12/2, Solo Acoustic European Tour In December

We are excited to announce that Destroyer will release Five Spanish Songs EP on December 2nd through Dead Oceans in the UK and Europe, a followup to 2011′s Kaputt. The EP, consists of songs written by Spanish musician Antonio Luque of the band Sr. Chinarro.
