Sun Airway’s “Symphony in White, No. 2″

Sun Airway’s “Symphony In White, No. 2″ from klipcollective on Vimeo.

Today Pitchfork premiered the video for Sun Airway b-side “Symphony in White, No.2″ in the Forkcast. The video is a mini-doc (directed by Ricardo Rivera of Klip Collective) of the band’s recent performance at the First Unitarian Church in their hometown of Philadelphia. The audio is from the upcoming 7″, and the video features projections made specifically for the music by Klip Collective.

Sun Airway will perform on Friday night at Schubas in Chicago and at 1:55 on the Blue Stage at Saturday’s Pitchfork Festival in Union Park. Dead Oceans will be there – eating ice cream and getting heat stroke and hi-fiving everyone. We’ll see you there!

Sun Airway to Tour with Cults, Asobi Seksu and More! New Live Videos and “American West” Remix by S&S

Just in time for Sun Airway’s upcoming spring tour that will take them across these Great United States of America (including SXSW, tba), yvynl has produced a video that expounds upon the great visual projections that are an integral part of Sun Airway’s tremendous live show. Jon Barthmus of Sun Airway and Ricardo Rivera of Klip Collective are both interviewed, and the live footage contained offers a taste to their upcoming shows with Cults, Asobi Seksu and Small Black.

Klip Collective filmed three songs of Sun Airway performing at a recent concert at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia. You can watch “Oh, Naoko,” “Infinity,” and “Your Moon” on their vimeo here.

The great Philadelphia duo S&S (Si Young and Sammy Slice) have remixed Nocturne’s “American West.”

Sun Airway’s New Music Video for “Put the Days Away,” Album Pre-Order and CMJ Live Performances

Dead Oceans would like to present the official music video for Sun Airway’s “Put the Days Away,” directed by Ricardo Rivera of KLIP Collective.

Night has fallen upon Philadelphia, and our heroine is making her way through the streets on her bicycle. Something is wrong, and the sight of happy couples are certainly not helping. She arrives home, soaked from the rain and begins to put the day away. Her unconscious mind becomes animated for us, a gorgeous combination of visual projections previously seen for Sun Airway’s “Oh, Naoko,” “Infinity,” and “Waiting On You.”

Sun Airway’s upcoming album, Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier, will be released on October 26th in North America and is now available for pre-order at SC Distribution. All pre-orders include an instant MP3 download of the entire album.

Sun Airway will be performing several parties and showcases at the CMJ Festival in New York next week.  Check out the times and venues after the jump!
