Dead Oceans Plots SXSW Showcase Mind-blower

For the past two years, Dead Oceans, Secretly Canadian and Jagjaguwar have kept Thursday night at the Mohawk the best music showcase of the SXSW Festival. So, in keeping with our tradition of quantities of quality, we are proud to announce that we will be doing it again in 2009.

This year we are going to be a tiny bit skimpy on the details. Festival-goers are going to need a little help keeping their minds alert now that all the caffeine and taurine have been taken out of the free Sparks: WHO WILL THE SPECIAL GUEST BE? Did The Curious Digit decide it’s time to stage a comeback? Is it Dead Oceans’ latest signing? Have we booked The Texas Centaur for the party? Only time will tell, and that time is specifically 12:45 on the night of Thursday, March 19th. Don’t bother asking us for hints because SXSW-surprise-torture is our favorite kind of torture!

Once again, we will be running two stages at the Mohawk. Please come early, stay late, grab a refreshing beverage, hug the taxidermied bear who lives in the hallway and enjoy the following musical stylings:
