Listen: White Hinterland Featured on Alan Wilkis Single

Producer Alan Wilkis is known for his work behind the scenes, particularly remixing the of songs of indie-poppers and rockers. In his latest project, Wilkis combines art, music, and video for the creation of “Prints,” a series of singles formed out of collaboration in the studio and through the interwebs.

Our girl Casey Dienel, of White Hinterland, lends what seems to be an effortless talent to the newest song, “Shadow”. The track starts as a tempting jam, laying down a beat and groove that’s pretty irresistible. What follows is an intertwining of Dienel’s sweet, but ultimately haunting vocals and Lyrics Born’s straightforward rhymes. The two grow off each other, playing a “shadow game.” Go ahead and give it a listen below. You know you want to.

The Psychedelic Experiences of White Hinterland’s Shawn Creeden

White Hinterland’s Shawn Creeden has already proven himself a modern renaissance man: beat maker, baker, wildlife artist extraordinaire. Now, he’s a published author. This Is The Same Hillside, his document of adventures under the influence of psychedelic mushrooms is available now from Publication Studio. According to the publishing house: “(Creeden’s) highly personal graphic scrawl keeps the eye lingering on the page while suggesting a deeper psychological world just beneath the surface.” Ordering now.

Meanwhile, White Hinterland’s Casey Dienel was also talking literature recently with Brooklyn Vol. 1. She discussed her Hungry Oyster food blog, and the food-writing of Nabokov, F. Scott Fitzgerald and MFK Fisher.
