WATCH: New Video for A Place To Bury Strangers’ “You Are The One,” “Worship” Pre-order Available Today

A Place To Bury Strangers release a new video for “You Are The One,” off their forthcoming album, Worship. The video premiered on SPIN earlier today. Directing duo Matt Moroz & Tracy Maurice deliver a twisted nightmare in this grindhouse-esque clip produced by Greencard Pictures. Shot on 16mm film, their dark, experimental style expertly mirrors the mood of APTBS’s track and elevates the music video to a cinematic noir thriller.

Moroz and Maurice’s creation recalls a 70s-era, B-movie that is definitley Not Safe For Work. The duo says, “We really loved the song. The video evoked something extremely dark, weird and disturbing.” In it, the viewer follows a mysterious figure as he viciously beats total strangers, leers at nubile young girls at an underground club, and initiates a blood-soaked make-out session. Watch above.

Starting today, you can pre-order A Place To Bury Strangers’ new album, Worship. They are offering a pretty sweet deluxe bundle just for you; it includes the album on limited edition (while supplies last) “blue death” vinyl and CD, 7″ vinyl edition of You Are the One / I Can Feel Your Heart Inside My Head, early gratification download code supplied for full album (redeemable on June 11th), a 17×22 poster featuring album artwork and finally, you’ll be entered to win a Death By Audio ‘Fuzz War’ effects pedal made by Oliver of APTBS.

DiS Interview with Oliver Ackermann, Fan Videos Galore!

In the midst of their European tour, A Place To Bury Strangers are hard at work. With plans to join This Will Destroy You for a summer tour, their days on the road seem to be never-ending. Oliver Ackermann recently found some time to sit down with Drowned In Sound for a loooong interview…

“Lots of things influenced the record. Every time I sit down and write a song I tend to reflect upon times from within my life. Not just times that have sucked in the past, but sometimes things kind of sucked while we were making the record. Horrible things happen and these are the moments when I feel more passionate to write something.”
