Phoebe Bridgers has had the plan for this fantastic clip lined up for quite some time. “I’ve had the idea for this video since before recording ‘Motion Sickness’,” says Bridgers. “Probably inspired by my brother Jackson signing ‘Down With the Sickness; to me in karaoke with 100% commitment in an orange jumpsuit.”
The Justin Mitchell-directed video for the latest single off her forthcoming debut album, Stranger In The Alps, might not have an orange jumpsuit – but it definitely has karaoke. Watch it now.
The song – which has earned praise from outlets including NPR Music (“…hers already feels like an indispensable voice”), Stereogum (“an aching betrayal”), NME, Brooklyn Vegan, Under The Radar, and The Line Of Best Fit, among many others – is available as a digital single as well as an instant grat download with pre-order of Stranger In The Alps, which will be released on September 22, 2017.
Following a September tour supporting Conor Oberst, Bridgers will headline a show at Highland Park Ebell in her hometown of Los Angeles, CA on September 21st as well as at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, NY on October 4th. She’ll then head overseas to the UK before returning home for a November tour with Noah Gundersen. A full list of dates is below.
