Avalon Emerson Shares new track: “E After Next” feat. Moby The latest release from new project Perpetual Emotion Machine

Posted on 08/12/2025

The music is a perpetual emotion machine.

The DJ is a perpetual emotion machine.

The dancefloor is a perpetual emotion machine.

The perpetual emotion machine is what we reach into when we listen and move to music together

Globally-renowned DJ and producer Avalon Emerson has shared a new track in collaboration with Moby, titled “E After Next”, continuing the Perpetual Emotion Machine series via Dead Oceans.

The track, a staple of Avalon’s recent live sets, is a repurposing of Moby’s 1992 track “Next Is The E”, from his self-titled debut album. It lifts off as an instantly grabbing, club-ready house track before the vocals weave in around acid/psychedelic flourishes.

The track follows recently released double single “Sort of Like a Dream feat. Anunaku” and “You’re My World feat. Priori”, both coming after “On It Goes”, “Treat Mode” and a cover of Oppenheimer Analysis’ cult classic “Don’t Be Seen With Me” all under the PEM project.

Perpetual Emotion Machine is a living, evolving project; a conduit for human connection on the dance floor which sees Emerson pull from different genres across different decades, reaching into the mosaic of dance music’s past and future to help us connect with each other right now.

“These songs were created for my DJ sets. Whether they’re entirely original, edits to recontextualize old favorites, instrumental, or feature me singing, they are all part of my perpetual emotion machine. And the machine steams on.”

Perpetual Emotion Machine marks a return to dance music for Emerson, following 2023’s critically acclaimed dream pop album Avalon Emerson & The Charm.
