Here at Dead Oceans we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Tallest Man On Earth‘s classic album The Wild Hunt. We are commemorating this anniversary with a special edition LP pressed on pink/blue summer sky wave vinyl exclusively through Secretly Society and releasing his timeless cover of Paul Simon’s “Graceland”. The song was the B-side to the single “King of Spain”, which was exclusively sold on his European tour in 2010.
The Tallest Man On Earth’s second LP, The Wild Hunt, picks up where 2008’s Shallow Grave left off, with Kristian Matsson doing what he does best. The Wild Hunt isn’t just another folk album; this is acoustic rock ‘n’ roll from a man with a story to tell. The effortlessness, melodic sensibility and deft lyricism seem to recall Dylan’s early years. But when you witness the Tallest Man on Earth perform live, you are watching a man possessed. The energy pours out with every word. Full of intensity and raw emotion, he paces the stage, bringing the audience into the palm of his hand, completely lost in his songs.
