The Tallest Man On Earth Featured on Live at KEXP Compilation

Just when I thought KEXP couldn’t get more awesome, they’ve announced their latest live compilation, Live at KEXP, Volume Seven! The Tallest Man On Earth makes an appearance with his song “A Field of Birds.” Check out the video above for a little taste.

Although we release Destroyer’s music outside of North America, we’re pleased to see them included, as well as Sharon Van Etten, who is signed with our sister-label Jagjaguwar. Congratulations to everybody and a big thank you to KEXP for all the love.

John Vanderslice Performs Convict Lake for KEXP

At SXSW, KEXP set up shop at Mellow Johnny’s, a store owned by Austinite Lance Armstrong. John Vanderslice performed a set, and KEXP recently posted a video of White Wilderness standout “Convict Lake.” JV embarks on a lengthy North American tour next week, check out the full list of dates. No word on whether Lance was in attendance or not.

Sun Airway Get Remixed By Solar Bears, Announce Tour

Sun Airway’s fall tour saw them on the road with the likes of Bear in Heaven, Lower Dens and Twin Shadow. They visited Daytrotter (session coming soon!), KEXP (check out the video above) and Yours Truly (which, if you have not seen, stop what you are doing and watch). And, now they are about to head back out on the road, visiting Chicago for the Tomorrow Never Knows Festival, touring with Cults, Asobi Sesku and Small Black, and visiting SXSW. Check out all of the dates below.

Pitchfork just posted a killer remix of “American West” by Ireland’s Solar Bears. You have to listen to this. Go here and jam it.

Here are those tour dates. Read the rest of this entry »

The Tallest Man on Earth is live on KEXP this afternoon!

KEXP has been in Portland, Oregon this week at MusicFestNW, and they are going to be broadcasting a live session from the Doug Fir with The Tallest Man on Earth today, Sept 10th at 2:30 PM Pacific Standard Time. If you live in Portland and you’re reading this, the show at the Doug Fir is free and open to the public! It’s first-come, first-served, though, so you might want to get there early. Click here for more info and where to listen.

His official MusicFestNW performance is tonight at the Doug Fir at 11:55pm on the Toyota Antics and KEXP stage. Perhaps he will play tunes from his new, surprise EP???

I leave you now with this video I found of Kristian playing “King of Spain” in Germany a couple of weeks ago. What the hell, this dude is a star and never ceases to amaze me.

During the tour Mt St Helens will perform alongside David Bazan, Dead Confederate, and Portugal, The Man.
