This month marks ten years of Mitski’s groundbreaking Puberty 2, her fourth studio album and an “incendiary self-portrait” (Rolling Stone). Since its release, Puberty 2 became an album that defined the 2010s, solidifying Mitski as one of the most vital voices in indie rock. To celebrate, Mitski announces Puberty 2 (10th Anniversary Edition), out digitally today and on limited edition Forest Shadow colored vinyl on October 30th via Dead Oceans. The digital version of Puberty 2 (10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) includes two additional bonus tracks: covers of One Direction’s “Fireproof” and Frank Sinatra’s “I’m a Fool to Want You.” Additionally, Mitski releases new lyric videos for fan favorites and globally recognized hits “I Bet on Losing Dogs,” “Once More to See You,” and “Your Best American Girl,” translated in Spanish, Portuguese and Filipino.
Puberty 2, released in June 2016 via Dead Oceans, saw one of modern music’s defining voices hit a brave new stride and come fully into focus, existing in both a beautiful and brutal romantic hinterland. It picked up where its predecessor, 2014’s Bury Me At Makeout Creek, left off and presented the image of the same defiant, feminist figure that had previously won her acclaim. At the time of the album’s release, Pitchfork awarded the album “Best New Music” and lauded it as “a resounding personal statement and the clearest sign that while [Mitski] might be an ‘indie rock’ artist, she currently stands apart from—and above—much of the genre,” a sentiment that continues to hold strong with each subsequent release.
Puberty 2 landed on numerous best of 2016 lists and has since been included in The Observer’s “Best Albums of the Century So Far” and Pitchfork’s “Best Albums of the 2010s.” “Your Best American Girl” was included in the “Top 10 Best Songs of the Past Decade” by Pitchfork, Billboard named it one of their “Songs That Defined The Decade” and NPR featured it in their “200 Greatest Songs By 21st Century Women+.” Additionally, “I Bet on Losing Dogs” has reached gold status in the US and silver status in the UK. The album, certified gold in the US and silver in the UK, has been streamed over 1.72B worldwide and sounds across the album have been used nearly 17M across social media.

Earlier this year, Mitski released her “superb new album” (New York Times), Nothing’s About to Happen to Me, via Dead Oceans. The album received an abundance of praise from fans and critics alike, with Consequence ranking the album #6 in their list of the “33 Best Albums of 2026 So Far” and declaring, “Mitski’s world-class run continues,” and Stereogum asking “Who else could do it like this?” in their “Best Albums of 2026 So Far list.” In support of the album, Mitski appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and just last week, performed “Where’s My Phone?” and “I’ll Change for You” on Later… with Jools Holland.
Following the album’s release, Mitski embarked on a largely sold-out run of global performances, including five incredible nights this spring at Hollywood High School in Los Angeles. On Friday, June 12th at 5pm Eastern, Sirius XMU will premiere Mitski – Live from Hollywood High!, the entire 26 song concert Mitski performed on April 4th.
