Corners EP

Aaron Frazer first gained recognition as the co-lead vocalist and drummer of Durand Jones & the Indications and has since released two solo albums – his 2021 debut Introducing… and 2024’s Into the Blue, which saw him expand into a broader, bolder sound. Now, with Corners, the Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist returns with a collection of songs that embraces the joy of making music for its own sake.

Written and recorded between tours over the past year, the EP grew from Frazer’s desire to make music with the friends, peers and collaborators he’s come to admire throughout his career. Featuring contributions from Tommy Brenneck, Mayer Hawthorne, Anthony Masino, Gabe Roth, Kelly Finnegan, Blake Rhein, and Cold Diamond & Mink. Frazer says the project was,”a joy to make with no pressure, or timing it around a grand tour, with no goal other than to make songs I love with people I love.”

Across six songs, Frazer continues to write from the perspective that has long defined his work: romance in all its hopeful, exhilarating and heartbreaking forms. “It’s A Shame” reflects on the familiar sting of heartache, “Same Old Game” captures the feeling of a childhood crush, “Paint the Picture” revels in yearning, while “Let Your Love Grow” captures the nervous optimism of opening yourself up to love after heartbreak. “Back Into the World” details the emotional release of emerging from a breakup, while closing track “Tell Me” rejects modern dating’s performative cool in favor of simple honesty. As Frazer puts it, “Being nonchalant is overrated when you’re into someone.”

Warmth runs throughout Corners, with Frazer hoping these songs “sit side by side next to your favorite soul songs, both new and old, standard and obscure, at car shows, cookouts, in bedrooms, on dance floors, late nights and slow mornings.”
