Aaron Frazer, the Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, producer, and member of the acclaimed group Durand Jones & the Indications, announces his forthcoming EP Corners, out on October 30 via Dead Oceans. Today also sees the release of the single “Paint The Picture,” a song that revels in yearning and the thrill of taking a chance on love.
Written and recorded between tours over the past year, the EP grew from Frazer’s desire to make music with the friends, peers and collaborators he’s come to admire throughout his career. Featuring contributions from Cold Diamond & Mink, Kelly Finnegan, Gabe Roth, Anthony Masino, Mayer Hawthorne, Tommy Brenneck and Blake Rhein, Frazer says the project was, “a joy to make with no pressure, no timing it around a grand tour, with no goal other than to make songs I love with people I love.”
Aaron Frazer says of the EP, “As the project progressed I found myself traveling in LA, between studios in South Central, Riverside, Pasadena, and Lincoln Heights. It felt like I was traveling to every corner of LA and collaborating with people all over the world. So when it came time to pick a name, ‘CORNERS’ felt like a natural choice. “
“Paint the Picture” will also be released as a 7” with Corners’ track “Back Into The World” as a b-side, out via Colemine on November 13.
Aaron Frazer first gained recognition as the co-lead vocalist and drummer of Durand Jones & the Indications and has since released two solo albums – his 2021 debut Introducing… and 2024’s Into the Blue, which saw him expand into a broader, more exploratory sound. Now, with Corners, the Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist returns with a collection of songs that embraces the joy of making music for its own sake.
