The deluxe version of Durand Jones & The Indications‘ self-titled debut album is out now. We’re so proud to work with both the band and Colemine Records on this release. Durand & co. had a busy week tackling a full SXSW schedule, and have an even busier touring schedule ahead of them now.
There’s no question live performances are a vital part of music, if not what it’s all about. For now we’ll table that debate. However, the live show is essential to Durand Jones & The Indications. Radiating charisma, knowing when to withhold, when to lay it all out – this is a band in total control of a room. Luckily for you, you can hear a preview of their live show in the deluxe edition.
Inspired by a handful of dusty and obscure 45s bearing names like The Ethics, Brothers of Soul and The Icemen, The Indications set out to make a record steeped in heavy drums, blown-out vocals, and deep grooves. Gathered around a Tascam 4-track cassette recorder and a case of Miller High-Life, the group spent their Sunday evenings recording into the early hours of the morning. We recommend you give it a spin, maybe dance a little in your kitchen, and get out to see them when they come to your town.
