This past spring, Alex Lahey released her sophomore album, The Best of Luck Club, which Pitchfork called “…a welcome and wide-open look at mid-twenties inertia and queer romance.” Today, Lahey takes a moment away from her own album and puts her own spin on an emo staple. Lahey’s take on My Chemical Romance‘s iconic “Welcome to the Black Parade,” recorded as part of triple j‘s weekly Like A Version segment, is available for streaming everywhere today. My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way gave the performance his co-sign, saying Lahey’s version gave him chills. You can watch the cover below.
