Today, Strand of Oaks (Timothy Showalter) returns with his sixth album, Eraserland. Of the album, Rolling Stone says, “[‘Eraserland’] traces the songwriter’s sober reflections and search for tranquility amidst glam-Bowie guitar freakouts (“Hyperspace Blues”), transcendent Crazy Horse jams (“Forever Chords”), and oddball tributes to Malcolm Young (“Moon Landing”).”
Last week, Strand Of Oaks was joined by Jason Isbell, Amanda Shires, Will Johnson (Centro-Matic), and My Morning Jacket members Bo Koster and Tom Blankenship to perform the single, “Ruby” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Watch here.
Strand of Oaks will head out on tour next month in support of Eraserland. The shows will begin on April 10th in Wilkes-Barre, PA and wrap up in Showalter’s hometown of Philly a month later. Highlights include Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles on April 22nd, Lincoln Hall in Chicago on May 3rd and Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on May 9th.
