To say Phoebe Bridgers doesn’t mince words almost feels like a disservice. True, she does cut to the core of the matter with an enviable economy of words. But to state it as such belies the emotional resonance and dedicated intention behind her lyrics. You’d be hard pressed to hear any track on her debut album, Stranger In The Alps, without feeling something.
At once personal and universal, the ten tracks that comprise the album run the gambit of emotion – a technicolor punch in the gut, a hand reaching through white-crested peaks.
