Phoebe Bridgers Debuts Cover of Manchester Orchestra’s “The Gold”

Posted on 07/12/2018

Phoebe Bridgers has debuted her cover of Manchester Orchestra’s song “The Gold,” off the Atlanta band’s 2017 album A Black Mile To The Surface (Loma Vista Recordings). Listen to her ethereal take on the track now here.

Bridgers and her band are currently on a North American tour in support of her acclaimed 2017 debut album, Stranger In The Alps, that extends into the fall, performing next tonight at The Crocodile in Seattle, WA. The tour includes headline dates in addition to shows supporting Sylvan Esso, American Football, The National, and Conor Oberst and the Mystic Valley Band; she will also perform this summer at a number of festivals, such as The Newport Folk Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, and Xponential Festival, among others (most recently, Eaux Claires).

Bridgers’ winter/spring headlining tour — her first ever — saw sell-outs in nearly every city and garnered glowing live reviews from outlets including Brooklyn Vegan (“Backed by a four piece band on a dimly lit stage festooned with fairy lights, Phoebe offered stirring, hushed renditions of the melancholy songs from her 2017 debut album…”) and Exclaim! (“The audience stood quietly throughout the show, entranced by the intense vulnerability of the songs and the crystalline radiance of Bridgers’ piercing voice”). A current itinerary of North American, UK, and European dates is below.
